In the north of Hebron there is an ancient complex from the Roman period, identified as the place of "Aloni Mamra", the residence of the ancestors, the place where the three angels appeared to our father Abraham and the place where, according to tradition, a covenant took place Among the batirs and the circumcision of our father Avraham.

At the same time, there is an opinion that rejects this due to the distance of the site from the heart of the city of Hebron and due to the lack of findings from the period of the ancestors.

The oldest remains visible today in the area are the remains of the Herodian wall. Adjacent to the eastern wall inside the complex, remains of a Byzantine church built in the 4th century AD are visible, on the ruins of the pagan altar built by the Romans.

In the southwest corner is a water well known as "Abraham's Well".

After the destruction of the Temple, a famous fair was established at the site where Jews were humiliated and sold into slavery for the price of a horse's economic meal.

In 1997 following the Hebron Agreement, the State of Israel transferred responsibility for the site to the control of the Palestinians and the Israelis have no access to the site.
