Castel House

Beit Kastel is a house located in the entrances of the "Shelolot" (alleys of the Arab market), the house is actually part of the "Beit Hason" building on the north side of the Beit Hadassah neighborhood.

The name "Beit Kastel" is named after the late Rabbi Meir Shmuel Kastel. Rabbi Kastel was loved by the public for his good nature and honesty of heart and was appointed head of the Sephardi community council in Hebron and later Rabbi Kastel was even elected as head of the general city council. Rabbi Kastel was murdered in the events of 1929 .

In addition to Beit Kastel, on the ground floor of Beit Hason, there is another apartment known as "Beit HaRokh" where the pharmacist Ben-Zion Gershon lived who was also murdered in his house in the events of 1959, by the beasts of prey that were among his customers.
